Location is good, close to Termini. The teachers and the staff were very kind and helpful.
I was in a beginner's class and the working method didn't suit me. Several of us wanted to work on the basics of grammar and learn vocabulary or basic scenarios from everyday life, but the school's method was very different. Every day we did the same thing: reading and listening to a text 6 times, discussing it with 6 different partners, without even receiving any help or input from the teacher. So we didn't know if we'd understood the content. We also had plenty of time for discussion, but lacked the vocabulary to move forward. We had to teach ourselves grammar and verb conjugations. For a beginner, this is very difficult and unsatisfactory.
If I had to choose a school next time, again. I would choose Dilit! The school and teachers were excellent. There were seven students in the class and the lessons kept the students engaged and effective. I have very fond memories of drinking cappuccinos and cornetto in the café in the basement of the school, and talking with other students. I was also very happy with the apartment provided by the school, which was convenient for commuting to school and in a good environment.
Ver los detalles » Leer más...About the school, I felt everything great. I liked the classes, teachers, the method.
As many grown up attend the school I think it would be nice to tell a bit more about the reasons why we are doing the learning this way?...
And some more grammar would be nice.
Housing for me was okay but next time probably will choose another way
Excellent experience, great teachers. It is a good experience on what matters the most, the teacher was highly qualified, and i did not waste time.
Ver los detalles » Leer más...I took two classes, two hours each during my 2 weeks in Rome. I had not had Italian lessons in many years. Filomena is an excellent teacher. She showed great patience and her lessons were extremely appropriate. My confidence increased just by having a little instruction. I didn’t expect great strides in 2 lessons but my comfort level improved and I actually attempted some interactions. I plan to subscribe to your online classes. I have renewed motivation though at my age my expectations are limited. But it’s worth pursuing. I am very grateful for Filomena’s help.
I did not have any other experience at the school. I was told by my travel guide to be careful walking in the area near Termini because of pickpockets . I had absolutely no problems.
So thank you for the wonderful experience. I would do it again if I ever had the chance.
I LOVED our teacher Letizia. She made me feel so at ease. "Trust the process" she would say. You can't learn it all at once, you don't know what all the words mean yet and that is fine! It really made me feel so confortable in trying and participating. I also really liked the different ways of learning: visual, auditory, reading a text, listening to a conversation, doing some grammer, learning about the verbs. A great mix to create a really solid foundation. I also really liked the mix of group classes and private classes.
I also loved the opera singer student on the top floor whilst sunbathing on the roof top terrace during my breaks! I stayed at a hotel in the city centre so can't say anything about the housing. And I aim to be back, hopefully by October, fro another round of classes!
Buongiorno Milda,
Mi molto piace studiare l'italiano in Dilit International House.
My experience at Dilit was better than I had expected. The staff was super friendly and supportive, always ready to help with any questions that came up. The classes were truly immersive, in that we spoke Italian from the get go - using the method of listening, talking, reading, sharing. An excellent way to get an intuitive feel for the language. The teachers were genuinely caring and varied their teaching styles to make learning fun. The classes were small enough to get plenty of conversation time in. I especially liked meeting people from all over the world and of all ages. It definitely added to the experience for me.
The facilities were good as well, from the classrooms to the bar and dining area and of course, the outside patios. I miss the cappuccinos at the bar!! While I didn't take part in any of the organized activities Dilit offers, I did hear from friends that they were good. I chose Dilit from reading positive reviews about it as well as it's close proximity to Termini Station.
My housing situation was very very good. I was located within a 20 min walking distance to the school (which I had requested) and very much appreciated as the Rome metro system is crazy busy! My host was amazing - she went out of her way to make me feel at home and was always available to me when needed. She even helped me when I ended my stay with her and had to make my way back to the airport. I feel very fortunate to have gotten to stay with Nadia. Unfortunately i heard from others that not everyone had the same great experience with their homestay. I would suggest that hosts get screened regularly for their readiness to host.
An excellent experience overall!
the classroom had air condition, the teachers were nice and created an open and comfortable admosphere, that made meetig new people a lot easier. the school is easy to find and well organized. The housing was also comfortable.

Dilit was a great school to learn Italian! I was there for two weeks and I enjoyed every second of it. The classes were great and all the teachers were very welcoming. I would massively recommend visiting Dilit!
Ver los detalles » Leer más...I had a great experience at Dilit, very good school and perfect accomodation.
Ver los detalles » Leer más...My accommodation was nice and close to the centre. My teacher Laura was very engaging and I felt that my Italian improved significantly. Dilit is a friendly and welcoming environment and the building offers a great cafe as well as the patio to relax outside.
Ver los detalles » Leer más...Our teacher Susanna was outstanding. She had a varied group of people at various stages of knowledge. She managed us all very well. The facilities and the location were all good.
it was a shame we had to wear masks as it made understanding everyone more difficult.
I liked: The house with terraces and the canteen were good;
the teachers competent and friendly; offering interesting tours.
I did not like: The Hotel „ Villa delle Rose“ was very dirty!
I did complain about this at school and they got in contact with the Hotel at once.
To book a course for ‚Beginners 50 plus‘ unfortunately made no sense for me:
Reasons:
The course started with 14 beginners in every age.
Most of them were very young and more familiar with grammar.
On the other hand only 6 persons started the program 50 plus;
5 of them were advanced and I am the only beginner.
Therefore I did understand only less within the excursions.
Unterricht: abwechslungsreich, zielgerichtet auf den täglichen Gebrauch.
GIULIA ist auf unsere Interessiensgebiete und Wünsche bezüglich Unterrichtsgestaltung eingegangen
Standort: zentral
Einrichtungen: etwas alt, aber alles zweckmässig
Everything was far better than I expected: my teacher, the other students, the method used for learning, the atmosphere, the cafeteria, the building itself (with a terrace on the roof!), the commitment of all the staff, the after school... Thanks to DILIT, I also lived with a very nice lady.
This is not a school for absolute beginners, from what I saw (but it might be because there were very few of them in December and so they were integrated in groups more advanced), but it is perfect for people who have a basic knowledge - and more - of Italian. I really enjoyed my two weeks at DILIT and know that I made good progress, thanks to Gianna, my excellent teacher.
The school has all the facilities necessary and most of the teachers are very committed. You can imagine that they like their jobs and the students coming to this school.
I also agree with their teaching methods making the students speak a lot in different groups.
So everybody has the chance of expressing him/herself as often as possible. In my opinion there could sometimes be more correcting on the side of the teachers.
The classrooms - to my mind - often were too small for 10 to 12 students. I was on level C with at last 12 students and we had to move to another house because of the number of students. I think the groups should be smaller.
I very much liked our small 50plus group. We were only 6 and we had really good extra curricular activities, such as a cooking course, some guided walks in Rome ,Pompeji and a wine cellar.
I lived with a lady whose flat was about 20 minutes away by bus. Walking to the place took me only 15 minutes. She was nice, but I saw her very seldom. That means that I couldn`t really speak Italian in my free time. This is a pity!
I loved this school!! The classes were attended, teacher Roberto was really fantastic, friendly and helpful, the location was very good near to the central station and metro for all the city. The activities and the way of teaching was amazing and very interactive. The housing was excellent!!! Thanks a lot!!
Ver los detalles » Leer más...The school is very good, classes of around 10 people in the morning and small groups in the afternoon. The group consisted of people of all ages, nationalities, backgrounds but in class we were only allowed to speak Italian from day one. The teachers are great, the ones I met had been with the school for over 20 years, which I see as a good sign. They are knowledgeable, obviously like what they are doing and warm personalities. There were several activities, including a visit to the Villa Adriana, led by one of the teachers who majored in archeology and it was very nice.
I stayed with a nice host family in the Embassy area, which was 10 minutes walking distance from the school and next to a metro station, which I thought was perfect. Language International, the organization through which I booked, arranged everything well and quickly. I had a fabulous week in Rome, and would not hesitate to book again.
The classes were excellent, we had to think all the time. I had an excellent teacher, Claudio, I learned a lot off him.
Ver los detalles » Leer más...I did not know the Italian language was studied in so many countries and continents. Having students in the class of everywhere in the world was a wonderful surprise. We became good friends. The teachers were good and nice. The 50+ programs were interesting, especially the walks in Rome on different theme – I loved them. The after school program might have been the most comprehensive, with excursions, walks, and other things interesting. Here, you had the possibility to get to know people of different nationalities, and you would profit from the opportunity of being together.
The lessons were interesting for the majority. Sometimes, the theme changed fast. I wanted to go more deeply into a topic. Sometimes I had to wait a bit instead.
The resorts (the classrooms) were too small for our group. It was a surprise that we were so many, perhaps?
The family, in fact, had only a daughter. They were very nice.
I cannot think of anything to complain about.
Perhaps a curiosity. "LL school rules" treat accommodations a little strangely? The towels are not included. Should we have brought towels for two weeks from home?
I have already begun to make ads of this course.
The teacher was nice and good for a beginner student. I spent a lot of time in this school and made some friends all over the world. That's so cool.
Ver los detalles » Leer más...My experience was definitely something I will never forget. The classes were exciting and engaging, with something new to learn every day. However, the only negative aspect of the classes was that I felt I wasn't learning the tenses, as I hadn't studied them before, so it was harder to pick up - they weren't taught but I just had to know them. Apart from that, I enjoyed everything else! The location was perfect, the facilities were great, and so far, I have been enjoying the activities.
I had two teachers, Antonella and Robeto. They were both very, very good. I liked the way they presented the material we worked with. It was often something to listen to, which was difficult and challenging, but by rehearing it and discussing it in Italian with fellow students we learned to understand what was going on and what was said. We learned how Italians express themselves in certain every day situations. I will be back!
I would like to add something to the ratings below.
I only attended one activity, which was about the Italian pronunciation. And that was very, very good.
The 3 months I spent in Rome were amazing. I loved the school. I had 3 teachers while going there and they were all very nice and fun. We actually loved going to school. The apartment I stayed in was great. It was located near the bus and metro station, near grocery store, a park, and a big shopping street. ;) The owner was great too. We stayed in touch even after I left. Overall, it was the best experience ever and I still miss it.
Ver los detalles » Leer más...Meet new people was very exciting! I learned Italian and was very cool. Because I speak Portuguese, it was a bit easier to understand some words. I could explore the language in my daily routine while I was there in Rome. The teacher was very nice, with a lot of games to teach us in an easier way. But in the first week, the students were a bit harder, so I enjoyed the second week better for sure! :) The location. I did not like much the location because was far away from the touristic points. In a walk distance, you can´t reach many interesting places.
Ver los detalles » Leer más...The biggest thing I liked about Dilit was the methodology. It is the first time that I am at an institute where you have to speak since the first class, but also during all class activities. I never was bored and teachers are so kind... It was surprising because when I arrived I did not speak Italian at all! Obviously, I was just for a short period but now I feel confident to speak at least a little and to continue studying Italian.
Ver los detalles » Leer más...Nice.
Ver los detalles » Leer más...I like the teachers, i like the group, i meat my gfr, location is fine, all is great..
But the programme, system, lessons without any tests for new worlds, not a lot of execises for writing, writing, i will never recomended that school, but the teachers i will. People who working there so kind, so nice, friendly, wish to help u always! everything, but, Jesus (!), the system... Plus always print/coppy,no books...
thank you
Classes - Overall I enjoyed the class. The size of the class was reasonable and the students and teachers were all lovely. However, I would say that more attention needs to be given to developing the lesson plan for beginner students. The school has a presumption that all students have at some point, prior to arriving, undertaken italian language training and learnt basic grammer rules. As it would appear, many students in my class had never taken Italian before Rome and struggled day to day in understanding what the teacher said about sentence construction and grammar rules. This needs to be addressed as many students were frustrationed and confused during their class, and felt like they could not progress further under these circumstances.
Teachers - all very professional and approachable.
Location - brillant location as it was very close to the main train station, Termini.
Facilities - the computers were outdated. New ones need to be brought in.
Activities - the activities were great. I particularly loved the passegiattes (Italian historical walks)
Housing - my apartment was not that far from the school, but I would have prefered to have been put in accommodation, somwhere in the city so that I could walk around and enjoy the sights of Rome a lot more.
